Moral Dimensions of teaching:I took a lot from the moral dimension class, some of it even today does not all make sense to me and how I want to teach; however, for the purpose of helping all of us simply remember the four points for the final I will put the points, definitions, and maybe a little commentary below. By the way, these can be in any order, I choose to stay with the PEEP acronym though.

P: Providing access to knowledge. I think this is straightforward, although it can mean a couple things. [First, making sure that all our students have physical access in our classrooms to tools they need to accomplish the assignments. This can be anything from pencils to computers.][ Second, we need to ensure that our lessons are broad enough to reach across all learning styles and cultures.]

E: Enculturating the students in a social and political democracy: I’m not sure if it would be appropriate to have a democracy all the time in a classroom, because the students would always vote down homework. However, [letting them choose between different assignments, or working in groups is a good way to get everyone involved.]

E: Ensure responsible stewardship: Basically this means [being a positive example to our students both in and out of the classroom.] I have given this some thought and decided this [also applies to the assignments we prepare for the students, meaning that we should push our students and expect the best from them.] There is more to this, but it fits better under the last part.

P: Practice a nurturing pedagogy: This finishes off my idea about assignments. [If we are going to push our students, then they are going to need encouragement.] We can’t expect students to succeed solely through our lesson plans and homework. [We’ve got to make sure they’re on the right track and moving forward.]

Enculturating: Yes, its almost a real word. Meaning change, adapt or modify, specifically in our case creating an environment which students can participate.
Pedagogy: The art or science of being a teacher, generally refers to strategies of instruction, or a style of instruction
