Course Summary

Welcome to TTE 276! This course will introduce you to teaching technology in the secondary education system. It should provide you with a foundation and context for your preparation of becoming a technology teacher. At the end of this course you will be knowledgeable about the mission and scope of technology education as a profession and you will be introduced to and become familiar with professional organizations, theories, philosophy, and historical influences to the current practices of the field of technology. You will also begin exploring the moral dimensions of teaching, public purposes of education, and developing emerging instructional skills and professional dispositions. You will explore the demands and opportunities associated with teaching by participating in field-based teaching experiences to help you identify your interests, strengths, and weaknesses in relating to and teaching secondary students.

The TAs (Todd Burris and Alan Buzbee) will be available on MWF from 10 - 2PM and TTH from 12 - 2pm). You can contact them via email: Todd or Alan.
